With all the millions of images produced everyday by all sorts of technology of which there are some superb images, has the whole of photography become ephemeral? I can remember some images which stick in my mind (doh) - but most of these are from way back - Helmut Newton, Bob Carlos Clarke , Kroll, etc etc.
How many iconic images can you recall now - and are they from when photography was less of a way of life than a way of a few top photographers?
I get pleasure from looking at some of the shots on many of the media sites - but quickly forget them (could be to do with my age lol).
What's your thoughts ?
By the same token, I would recognise BB King, The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix if played.l today. But if you play just about anything in the charts from the last 10 years, I really would not be able to tell who or what it was.
I agree - :)
